If you are thinking of toning out the excess flab from your abs, get ready for some workouts and diet changes. Here are a few tips to help you get flat stomach in no time.
Do consult your doctor before you begin any exercise regime. You can also consult a fitness expert or make sure you have an exercise partner to help guide you in your exercise regime.
Exercise and relaxation An exercise need not only have to be tedious routines. An aerobic exercise session of at least 30 minutes per day with upbeat and motivating music will also do. Try anything that causes your heart to beat up, such as dancing, jogging, swimming, cycling etc.
Vary your exercises based on your requirements. While crunches and leg raises affect your upper and lower abdomen, side bends work on your obliques. Your stomach’s flatness depends on you. You will see results after the top layer of stomach fat burns up. Hence, be patient and continue working out.
Anaerobic exercises such as simple resistance training, light and heavy weight lifting and other compound exercises also help. You can also try vacuum pose, belly rubs, belly resting, stomach twisting, hip raise, air cycling, sit-ups, front squat, log roll and much more.
Diet When speaking of diets, it should not be mistaken for a starvation and deprivation program. Instead eat well but eat more of raw vegetables, fruits, lean meat as well as toned dairy foods. Do not consume junk food. Also, make sure you rest well. Drink herbal tea laced with honey is also a good idea.
Soda and other carbonated or aerated drinks should be avoided. Instead, drink quite a lot of water to clear your system. As a rule, carbohydrates should be your diet for the first half of the day, while proteins should be consumed in the second half.
Exercise caution Do not go overboard with your new exercise routines. If your body is screaming for rest, then you take some time off. Another thing to look out for is to avoid eating anything just before you go to sleep.
Have you heard that one of the best ways to get and keep a flat midsection is to increase your metabolism? This tells your body to naturally burn fat automatically- even while you sleep!
