Begin Any Day Right Utilizing Nutritious Breakfast Choices

by Ryan Gert

Many studies have been performed on the effects of children eating breakfast. The results show that kids who eat a healthy breakfast do better in school. To help your children achieve good grades and to improve their behavior and growth, it is important for you to provide them with a healthy nutritious breakfast each day. The following contains five simple steps that will help you nurture your children with a healthy breakfast.

Help your kids finish their homework every night. Not only will this teach them to avoid procrastination, it will also free up time in the morning for eating a healthy and wholesome breakfast. Finish each homework session by packing the finished homework along with school books and supplies into each child’s backpack to prepare for the next school day.

Help your children plan ahead for each school day by laying out a full outfit of clothes the night before. Not only will this free up time in the morning for a healthy breakfast, but it will also teach your children the value of organization and to avoid procrastination.

Set your alarm to wake you up fifteen to twenty minutes earlier than usual. This will give you time to start preparing breakfast for your family and can give you time to wake up before helping get the kids ready for the day. Once this routine is established your family will enjoy eating breakfast together and bonding before the day begins.

Keep your television and computer off in the morning. These are both time-consuming activities that often keep families from a good breakfast. Instead, spend that time talking about the day ahead and bonding over a good meal.

Buy lots of healthy food options. Not only will this keep you fueled throughout the day, but your children will perform better and will be better behaved. Encourage your children to fill up on fruits and vegetables at each meal to keep their bodies healthy and start to incorporate a new tropical fruit into each breakfast. Changing fruits can result in interest from children and is a welcome relief for adults as well.

If you require assistance getting food for yourself or family and are making a low income, you could possibly be eligible for Michigan food stamps, Minnesota food stamps, or food stamps from a different U.S. state which you live in.
